It works differently from most RF microneedling: shallow, gentle, and aimed at repairing the skin rather than blasting it. Here's what it does, who it suits, and what it costs right now.
Sylfirm X is a radiofrequency microneedling device made by the Korean company Viol. Like other RF microneedling, it uses fine needles to deliver radiofrequency heat into the skin — but its whole philosophy is different. Instead of aggressively remodeling the deep dermis, it can work extremely shallow, at the layer that controls pigment and redness, to repair and stabilize the skin rather than force it to react. The manufacturer describes it as targeting around 300 microns — the depth of the basement membrane, the boundary between the epidermis and dermis — with an adjustable range from about 0.3 mm to 4.0 mm. That membrane does two important jobs: it helps keep pigment where it belongs and helps regulate the tiny vessels beneath. Continuous wave (CW) delivers sustained, deeper heat into the dermis to build firmer, structural collagen for pores, laxity and scars. This is one of Sylfirm X's biggest advantages. Numbing cream is applied for 30–40 minutes, and because it often works very shallow, most people feel only mild stinging during treatment.
